Mary S. Cooke, Running for Supervisor

After Mary's 18 years on the Town Council, she is ready to take the lead and continue her success in the Town Supervisor position.  As a councilwoman, she has been involved in numerous projects for the benefit of our Town, which she will continue to pursue.  These have included:

  • Maintenance of Town's A 1 bond rating achieved 7/08
  • Return of Medical Care Bonus for 11 years totaling $21,356
  • $3.8 million energy performance contract: costs of improvements guaranteed by contract to be paid for by energy savings, and increased meter accuracy
  • Design standards for Grand Island business districts, tree planting initiative, and sewers on the south end of Grand Island Boulevard
  • Comprehensive review of the Local Waterfront Revitalizaton Program, which became the basis for the Niagara River Greenway boundaries
  • Town/School Intermunicipal Agreement-sharing of school and town facilities
  • Employees hired after October 2002 contribute to health care
  • Town departments consolidated and/or reorganized for efficiency

Education:  Bachelor of Science Degree, Buffalo State College and Master of Science Degree, Niagara University

On a personal level, Mary is very involved in our community. Following is a partial list of her participation:
