| |  | Judge Frentzel has become a proud edition to the long line of outstanding Grand Island town judges. Our town court continues to be the standard by which other town courts are measured. During Judge Frentzel’s tenure, the “Problem Solving Court” has been expanded to include not only drug and alcohol programs, but mental health programs as well. These programs keep the offender under the strict supervision of both the court and the program provider, at no cost to town taxpayers. This program has allowed many youths the opportunity to “get their lives back” from the cycle of addiction and dependency.
The court’s new Alternative Dispute Resolution Program allows civil litigants the opportunity to resolve their difference without the anxiety of litigation. It provides meaningful and lasting resolutions from neighbor disputes to small claim issues.
Judge Frentzel ushered Grand Island into the 21st Century with the implementation of digital recording for all town court proceedings. The court has also upgraded security with the installation of panic alarms and the pending use of a metal detector. “These improvements will insure the safety of not only court visitors, but more importantly the victims of domestic violence”, said Judge Frentzel. The court has also obtained a grant which will provided new seating for the courtroom.
